Purpose

Our worship team serves the Lord, first and foremost. Joshua 24:14–15 contains these words: “…serve Him with all faithfulness… …choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… …as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

We serve Him with our musical talents. 1 Chronicles 15:16 says “David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers to sing joyful songs, accompanied by musical instruments…

We stand before the congregation and invite others to serve Him and worship Him in song. In John 4:23–24 Jesus teaches, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Style

We make a joyful noise (Psalm 66:1, 81:1, 95:2, 98:4–6, 100:1).

We use many different instruments (Psalm 150).

We are loud and we are quiet. Psalm 95:1 & 6 say, “Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. … Come let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our God our Maker.”

We advocate wholehearted worship. 1 Chronicles 28:9 says “serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you;”

We acknowledge that worship is more than music. 1 Corinthians 13:1 says, “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
